Polymer-modified Flexible Adhesive
DECHU FLEX is a deformable, cementitious, polymer-fibre-modified tile adhesive offering improved characteristics, slip resistance, and extended open time. It is a high-performance adhesive designed for installing vitrified tiles, large-format tiles, and natural stones. Its flexible properties make it suitable for commercial areas, where it helps accommodate stresses caused by heavy foot traffic.
Characteristics
C2 TE S1 compliant with EN 12004 standard
Type 3 T S1 compliant with IS 15477:2019
Contains visible fibres for enhanced strength and flexibility, helping accommodate substrate deformation on critical surfaces such as balconies, terraces, wet rooms, bathrooms, swimming pools, and external facades.
Suitable for ceramic tiles, vitrified tiles (semi and fully), glass mosaics, and non-sensitive natural stone.
Suitable for large-format and heavy-duty vitrified tiles.
Suitable for natural stone in internal and external applications.
Suitable for tile-on-tile applications.
Suitable for application over waterproofing and moisture-proof layers.
Suitable for difficult substrates, including heated floors and dry wallboards.
No vertical slip.
Suitable for indoor and outdoor applications.
Extended open time for safer application and adjustable positioning.
Easy and excellent workability due to its plasticized consistency.
Application thickness up to 15 mm.
Suitable for cement-fibre boards and gypsum boards (internal applications).
Suitable for floors subjected to heavy traffic.

Usage Guide
DECHU FLEX is designed for installing semi-vitrified and fully vitrified tiles, cement tiles, stone tiles, glass mosaics, and natural stone on deformable substrates.
Its flexible properties help maintain an elastic connection with the substrate, allowing it to accommodate shear stresses between the tile and substrate.
Recommended for fixing tiles and stones on walls, heated floors, dry wallboards, facades, terraces, balconies, swimming pools, and technological water tanks without chemicals.
With advanced adhesion properties, it is suitable for tiles with water absorption below 0.5%, such as fully vitrified tiles, and for installing tiles and stones on critical substrates, including existing tiles, gypsum substrates, dry wallboards, anhydrite, and cellular concrete.
Suitable for indoor and outdoor applications.
Recommended for floors exposed to elevated functional loads, including shopping malls and staircases.
Suitable for horizontal and vertical surfaces.
Suitable for cement and cement-lime plaster, cement screeds, cement ground coats, concrete, and other compatible substrates.
Substrate Preparation
DECHU FLEX should be applied to even, compact, and structurally sound substrates that are free from substances that may reduce adhesion, such as grease, bitumen, oil, paint, and dust.
Concrete substrates should be at least 1 month old.
Cement screeds and plasters must be fully cured.
Anhydrite substrates (residual moisture below 0.5%) and gypsum substrates (residual moisture below 1%) should be mechanically roughened and cleaned of dust.
Drywall and aerated concrete surfaces must be free from dust.
The adhesive can be applied over existing tiles. Existing tiles must be properly roughened and cleaned before application.
Substrates must not be wet during application.
Existing dirt, loose layers, and paint coatings must be mechanically removed.
Absorbent substrates should be dampened, with excess water removed before application.
Application
Pour DECHU FLEX into a clean container containing the precisely measured amount of clean water.
Mix using a drill mixer until a smooth, homogeneous, lump-free mixture is obtained.
Allow the mixture to rest for 5 minutes, then mix again before application.
Apply the mortar using a suitable notched trowel. Select the appropriate notch size to ensure full bedding of the tile or stone. The trowel notch depth should be selected according to the size of the tile or stone.
For larger tiles, stones, and outdoor applications, use the back-buttering method. Apply an additional thin layer of mortar to the back of the tile or stone to achieve a contact area greater than 90%.
Place the tiles or stones within the adhesive’s open time.
Spread the mortar and press the tiles or stones firmly while the adhesive is still sticky.
Remove fresh excess mortar with water. Hardened adhesive can only be removed mechanically.
Grouting can be performed no earlier than 24 hours after installation using DECHU tile grouts.
Floors can be opened to light foot traffic after approximately 24 hours.
Expansion joints, joints at wall and floor corners, and joints around sanitary equipment should be filled with suitable sealants or treated using appropriate methods.
