Usage Guide
DECHU ULTRA is a tile adhesive certified as C2 TE according to EN 12004 and Type 2 T according to IS 15477:2019. It is designed for fixing vitrified tiles, ceramic tiles (glazed and terracotta), and natural stone on floors and walls over cementitious renders, cementitious screeds, and concrete substrates.
Indoor & Outdoor Use
Suitable for horizontal and vertical surfaces, including:
Cement and cement-lime plaster
Cement screeds
Cement ground coats
Concrete surfaces
Substrate Prepartion
DECHU ULTRA should be applied to even, compact, and structurally sound substrates that are free from substances that may reduce adhesion, such as grease, bitumen, oil, paint, and dust.
Concrete substrates should be at least 1 month old.
Cement screeds and plasters must be fully cured.
Anhydrite substrates (residual moisture below 0.5%) and gypsum substrates (residual moisture below 1%) should be mechanically roughened and cleaned of dust.
Aerated concrete surfaces must be free from dust.
Substrates must not be wet during application.
Existing dirt, loose layers, and paint coatings must be mechanically removed.
Absorbent substrates should be dampened, with excess water removed before application.
Application
Pour DECHU ULTRA into a clean container containing the precisely measured amount of clean water.
Mix using a drill and mixer until a smooth, homogeneous, lump-free mixture is obtained.
Allow the mixture to rest for 5 minutes, then mix again before application.
Apply the mortar using a suitable notched trowel. Select the appropriate notch size to ensure proper coverage and full bedding of the tiles.
Do not soak tiles in water before fixing.
For larger tiles and outdoor applications, use the back-buttering method. Apply an additional thin layer of mortar to the back of the tile to achieve a contact area greater than 90%.
Place the tiles within the adhesive’s open time to ensure proper adhesion.
Fresh excess mortar can be removed with water. Hardened material can only be removed mechanically.
Wall grouting can be carried out using DECHU grouts after approximately 8 hours for vitrified tiles and 24 hours for porous tiles.
Floors can be opened to light foot traffic after approximately 24 hours.
Expansion joints, joints at wall and floor corners, and joints around sanitary equipment should be filled with suitable sealants or treated using appropriate methods.
