Usage Guide
DECHU XTREME is a highly deformable adhesive mortar with deformation of more than 5 mm (Class S2), designed for high-load-bearing, cavity-free installation of various tiles, slabs, and natural stone materials.
Suitable Materials
Vitrified tiles and slabs, porcelain stoneware, and cotto tiles
Cast concrete slabs
Natural stones with low discoloration tendency
Glass tiles, glass mosaics, and mosaics
DECHU XTREME is suitable for indoor and outdoor applications using the thin-bed or medium-bed method.
It is particularly suitable for the reliable installation of large-format tiles and slabs due to its high adhesive tensile strength and stress-absorbing properties. It can also be used for thin porcelain stoneware slabs with or without fiberglass mesh on the back.
DECHU XTREME provides a highly flexible adhesive bed and helps accommodate shear stresses, especially on difficult substrates.
Indoor & Outdoor Applications
Suitable for applications such as:
Heated screeds and panel heating systems
Cellular concrete
Dry screeds
Balconies and terraces
Facades, including green precast concrete units (minimum age 2 months)
Tile backer boards
Substrate Preparation
DECHU XTREME adheres to sound, load-bearing, clean, dry, and damp substrates that are free from substances that may impair adhesion. Coatings with insufficient bearing strength must be removed before application.
Indoor Use
Use a suitable primer, such as SuPrima or an approved equivalent, for:
Calcium sulphate screeds (gypsum/anhydrite screeds), mechanically roughened and free from dust.
Anhydrite screeds with residual moisture of ≤0.5%; heated screeds ≤0.3%.
Cellular concrete and other absorbent substrates.
Prime non-absorbent substrates, existing tiles, natural stone floors, and firmly adhering coatings using a suitable compatible primer.
Outdoor & Indoor Use
The following substrates may be directly covered with tiles or stones, provided they meet the specified age and moisture requirements:
Plasters of mortar groups P II and P III (at least 14 days old).
Cement screeds (at least 28 days old, residual moisture below 2%; heated screeds below 1.8%).
In-situ concrete (at least 28 days old).
Ensure the substrate is sound, properly prepared, and suitable for the intended installation.
Application
Mix DECHU XTREME with clean, clear water and stir until the mixture is completely free of lumps.
Allow the mortar to mature for approximately 5 minutes, then stir again.
If necessary, add small amounts of water until the desired consistency is achieved. Follow the approved product mixing ratio.
Apply DECHU XTREME according to generally recognized thin-bed or medium-bed installation methods, or use the buttering-floating method.
Allow for a skin formation time of approximately 40 minutes, subject to site conditions and the approved technical data sheet.
Use a trowel with a suitable notch size to ensure cavity-free placement of tiles and slabs.
Once the pot life has expired and the mortar has begun to set, do not attempt to re-temper the mortar by adding water and stirring again.
